CertPilot Privacy Policy

1. The short version

CertPilot keeps everything on your device and sends nothing anywhere. There are no accounts, no analytics, no adverts and no tracking, and the app does not even ask for network access. We cannot see your data, because it never reaches us. There is no server holding it and no user database to breach.

2. Who is responsible for this app

CertPilot is an independently developed Android app. If you have a privacy question, the contact details are in section 12.

3. What the app stores, and where

Your study data lives in a local database on your phone. That includes practice and exam sessions, the answers you gave and how long each one took, your confidence ratings, bookmarks, lesson progress, review schedules, concept mastery, statistics, your study plan and exam date if you set one, and your settings. It is written to the app's private storage area, which other apps on your device cannot read, and it stays there unless you export it yourself.

4. What we collect

Nothing. There are no servers, no user accounts, no analytics or crash reporting, and no advertising or attribution frameworks. The app contains no third-party tracking code of any kind. It does not collect, transmit, sell, rent or share any personal data, and there is simply no mechanism in it that could.

5. Permissions the app requests

CertPilot asks for as little as it can:

• No internet or network permission. The app cannot connect to the internet at all.
• Notifications, and only if you turn on the study reminder. The reminder is built on your device from your own study data and shown locally, so nothing is sent anywhere to produce it. If you decline, everything else keeps working and the reminder simply stays off.
• Access to one file you pick, and only when you export or import your data through the system file chooser. CertPilot has no general access to your storage.

6. Exporting your data

You can export all of your study data to a file from the Settings screen, saved wherever you choose in your device's own file chooser. Once it is exported, that file is yours and is outside the app's control. If you put it in a cloud drive or email it to yourself, it is then handled by that service under that service's terms. Importing works the same way in reverse.

7. Device backups

If you use Android's own backup feature, your phone may include app data in the backup it makes to your personal Google account. That backup belongs to you and is covered by Google's terms and privacy policy. The developer of CertPilot has no access to it and receives nothing from it. You can turn this on or off in your device's system settings.

8. Deleting your data

Use the Reset option in Settings, or just uninstall the app. Either one removes the data permanently, because no copy exists anywhere else. There is nothing for us to delete on our side, and no request you need to send us.

9. Payments and Google Play

Both certification packs are free at the time of writing. If a future version offers optional one-time purchases, Google Play would handle the payment entirely. CertPilot would never see or store your payment details, and Google's handling of that transaction is governed by Google's own privacy policy. Downloading and updating the app through Google Play is likewise a transaction between you and Google, under Google's policies rather than this one. Even then, your study data would stay on your device.

10. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the UK and EU GDPR give you rights over personal data that an organisation holds about you: to see it, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. Because CertPilot holds no personal data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase. Your equivalent controls live inside the app, where you can export your data at any time and delete all of it whenever you like. If you think any of this is inaccurate, please get in touch.

11. Children

CertPilot is a professional certification study tool made for adults preparing for cloud exams. It is not aimed at children, and it has no advertising, no social features, no user-generated content and no way to contact other people.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Because the app is offline-first, a change here can never switch on data collection in a version you already have installed. An app without the network permission cannot start sending data, whatever any document says.
